Preparing for the Holidays
Happy Thanksgiving To All!
As Thanksgiving approaches, we at the North Kingstown Food Pantry extend our heartfelt gratitude to the many individuals who support our mission. We are especially thankful for our food pantry guests. Serving you is our privilege, and while we strive for a world without hunger, we cherish the opportunity to connect with you, hear your stories, and offer assistance.
Our dedicated volunteers are the backbone of our operations. Your kindness, humor, and generosity make our work possible and enjoyable. We also appreciate our donors whose contributions sustain our programs and connect us to our wonderful community.
We also acknowledge our amazing staff whose passion and commitment drive our mission forward.
Our board provides invaluable leadership and guidance, ensuring we continue to grow and improve. We're also grateful to our grantors - nonprofits, foundations, businesses, and government entities - whose support is essential to our work.
Finally, we thank our network of supporters who advocate for us in the community, share our message, and contribute in countless ways.
Food brings people together, and we are deeply grateful for everyone who helps us provide nourishment to our neighbors in need.
Quidnessett Elementary School - Annual Turkey Trot
Another holiday season and another heartwarming Turkey Trot. In what has become an annual tradition, dozens of elementary school kids from the SMH Quidnessett Elementary School 'trot' around the neighborhood and collect food donations. This year, the Turkey Trot event yielded 420 lbs. of food.
Thank you to the staff, teachers and especially the students at Quidnessett Elementary School for making this event a huge success.
Go North!
Thank you to the NKHS Cross Country team for continuing a recent tradition of having a food drive and donating to the pantry. This year, they were able to donate 335 lbs. of food to help us feed those in need during this holiday season. Thanks to all involved in this continuing tradition!
The Kayak Centre and The Witches Paddle
The NK Food Pantry has so many champions in our surrounding community. The Kayak Centre of RI has made The Witches Paddle in Wickford a yearly tradition. Hundreds of witches gather and paddle in the waters of Wickford. All to support the NK Food Pantry. A huge thank you to The Kayak Centre of RI and a huge shout out to all those who participated in this years event. This community continues to amaze. We proudly accept this $8,000 donation, presented by owner Jeff Shapiro and his staff. The donation will help put food on tables for those in need, especially as we approach this holiday season.
