Happy Spring!
As the saying goes, "April showers bring May flowers," and with all the rain we've been getting, we're certainly looking forward to a season full of vibrant blooms and fresh beginnings. There's something special about this time of year, bringing a renewed sense of energy, growth, and possibility.
Speaking of beautiful things, we witnessed something truly inspiring this past week: the incredible generosity and spirit of our community. During the 401Gives campaign, a day of giving dedicated to supporting Rhode Island’s nonprofits, we were humbled and thrilled to receive over $9,500 from 80 generous donors!
This outpouring of support means more than words can fully express. Whether you donated, helped spread the word, or simply encouraged others to get involved, your contributions made a real impact. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your kindness and support help us continue the important work we do every day - reducing food insecurity in North Kingstown.
Here's to a season filled with gratitude, growth, and the continued strength of our amazing community.

Making a Real Difference
With a family of 7 children, my husband and I constantly feel like we are just barely hanging on in these economic times. We have 5 biological children and 2 that we fostered to adopt. But with our daughter, Blessing, on a heart transplant list, it’s just not possible for me to secure steady employment.
The North Kingstown Food Pantry gives us peace of mind when we need help from time to time to feed our family. We volunteer at our local church and feel strongly in giving back to the community - a community that has never turned its back on us when we needed food. The Pantry staff and volunteers are there for us when we need them.

Empty shelves, full carts, and growing needs - our food pantry is running low on many of our staples, but hunger isn’t slowing down. More families are coming in, but our shelves continue to empty. A little help from you can go a long way in keeping meals on the table. Click to Donate Now
Recipe of the Month
This month, we’re spotlighting a simple, tasty, and protein-packed favorite - the Tuna Patty! These easy-to-make patties are a great way to enjoy a healthy, satisfying meal using pantry staples. They're perfect on their own, in a sandwich, or alongside a fresh salad.
All the ingredients are available at the NK Food Pantry, so all our clients need to do is stop by, shop for their needs and give this recipe a try. We even ask to share their creations with us as we love to see how they turn out.
Thank you to our friends at St. Bernard Church who donated cases of tuna fish and crackers to help our clients re-create this recipe!
Thank You - Washington Trust Peanut Butter Drive!
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated to Washington Trust Bank’s 25th Annual Peanut Butter Drive in support of our food pantry!
We received a generous donation of peanut butter to help stock our shelves with this nutritious, family-friendly staple. Your support has helped ensure that families in our community have access to healthy, protein-rich options. With 28% of households in North Kingstown experiencing food insecurity, your contributions truly make a difference.
Thank you again to Washington Trust Bank and to everyone who participated. We are grateful for your kindness and community spirit!

Food Requests
Huge thanks to everyone who supports us — we seriously couldn’t do this without you! Right now, we’re especially looking for tomato soup, crackers, canned peas, cereal, and flour. If you’ve got any to spare, you can drop donations off weekdays between 10am–2pm, or just give the Pantry a call. Every little bit helps, and we appreciate you all so much!
